You can tell they were not designed to be neatly self-contained, but probably written to lead towards larger intertwined stories. My only complaint is that I wish the book didn't fast forward in the end because I would have loved to see what happened in between but I did think it was a good ending. If you are single and not happy about it then, by all means, read this book; it contains some valuable information about gaining insight on your situation. The second secret was not so serious but it was fun to keep from Stewart, the Marines who pride themselves on control could not find out her real first name.
