This is a treasure trove for those interested in the paranormal. This one was one of the others. Each book introduces a new word or two and immediately repeats that word or words a few times in the book. The story is wonderful (while some didn't "get it" completely, the message was there and delivered). I will get this book and her next for anyone who is diagnosed with cancer or going through a tradegy in life. The writing style of Ms Schneider is quite good which is impressing since this is her first book. It's a page turner to the end. For example, it did not explain nutrition requirements for rats but rather listed some recipes and foods to avoid, but it didn't really explain how to select a commercial rat food. It is obvious that great care was taken to make this a fast, fun read, while also making it a good mystery. (I realize the title of the book refers to Real Life & Tall Tales, so I knew that parts of it would be such fiction. Because this is Carr and Virgin River, there was also funny and touching dialogue and character interactions, and the start or continuation of several other story lines. Its rugged and perfect. Attempting to portray something as far ahead in the future as the 147th Century is a tall order for any SF author. He explains what the various symphonies are about and where the influences come from. Our heroine is brave and stubborn.
